de Banyuls a Cap de Creus

In July 2015 I was invited to exhibit at the Galeria Cadaqués. I took this opportunity to travel along with the border territory between France and Catalunya to invoke the geopolitical significance of this road during the Spanish Civil war (1936-1939). The exhibition was in Cadaqués, a small town that historically has always been a neuralgic center/hub for local and international artists such as Salvador Dalí, Richard Hamilton, and Marcel Duchamp.
All the pieces were related to “Road” book, part of a series of typographical exercises in book format that combines letterpressed and offset printing. “Road” measures the journey from Banyuls to Cap de Creus by means of counting the 54 kilometres travelled by road.
